Here’s credit help

June 30th, 2009

There are so very many people these days in need of credit counseling. It’s hard to believe just how many people have had to make ends meet with their credit cards and now they are in deep financial trouble.  Between the many job cuts, pay cuts to keep your job, and financial ruin because of the stock market drop, people need help.

Well there is help out there if you know where to look.  The Internet is one good place to start but you really need to check the fine print on each credit counseling site because some offer better help than others.  These guys offer real help.

Getting Old

June 26th, 2009

You are going to love this.  Well I did anyway!!!

image44When the husband finally died, his wife put the usual death notice in the paper, but added that he died of gonorrhea. No sooner were the papers delivered when a friend of the family phoned and complained bitterly, ‘You know very well that he died of diarrhea, not gonorrhea.’

Replied the widow, ‘I nursed him night and day so of course I know he died of diarrhea, but I thought it would be better for posterity to remember him as a great lover rather than the big *&^% he always was.’

The last day!!!

June 15th, 2009

Today is the last day of school for the teachers and most of the staff.  Well that is except for the poor principal and her secretary which have to work just about the whole summer.  Them the maintainance men have to repair what ever needs fixing and the custodians have to start working on cleaning all of the carpets, floors and all kinds of fun things like that.  At least none of them have to deal with the children for the summer.  So I guess I should be wishing every a ‘VERY HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!!!’

It’s almost over

June 1st, 2009

School will be out before you know it and honestly, I can’t wait.  It’s been a long hard year and I’m looking forward to the beach, the mountains and just about anywhere but work for about 3 months.  To start the summer off with some children’s humor, here’s what some kids wrote about the ocean:

1.  This is a picture of an octopus. It has eight testicles. (Kelly, age 6)

2.  Oysters balls are called pearls. (Jerry, age 6)

3.  If you are surrounded by ocean you are an Island . If you don’t have ocean all round you,   you are incontinent. ( Wayne, age 7)

4.  Sharks are ugly and mean, and have big teeth, just like Emily Richardson. She’s not my friend any more. (Kylie, age 6)

5.  A dolphin breathes through an asshole on the top of its head. (Billy, age eight)

6.  My uncle goes out in his boat with 2 other men and a woman and pots and comes back with crabs. (Millie, age 6)

7.  When ships had sails, they used to use the trade winds to cross the ocean. Sometimes when the wind didn’t blow the sailors would whistle to make the wind come. My brother said they would have been better off eating beans. (William, age 7)

8. Mermaids live in the ocean. I like mermaids. They are beautiful and I like their shiny tails, but how on earth do mermaids get pregnant? Like, really? (Helen, age 6)

9. I’m not going to write about the ocean. My baby brother is always crying, my Dad keeps yelling at my Mom, and my big sister has just got pregnant, so I can’t think what to write. (Amy, age 6)

10. Some fish are dangerous. Jellyfish can sting. Electric eels can give you a shock. They have to live in caves under the sea where I think they have to plug themselves into chargers. (Christopher, age 7)

11. When you go swimming in the ocean, it is very cold, and it makes my willy small. (Kevin, age 6)

12. Divers have to be safe when they go under the water. Divers can’t go down alone, so they have to go down on each other. (Becky, age eight)

13. On vacation my Mom went water skiing. She fell off when she was going very fast. She says she won’t do it again because water fired right up her big fat ass. (Julie, age 7)

14. The ocean is made up of water and fish. Why the fish don’t drown I don’t know. (Bobby, age 6)

15. My dad was a sailor on the ocean. He knows all about the ocean. What he doesn’t know is why he quit being a sailor and married my mom. (James, age 7)

I find it amazing that this photo, taken so many years ago, actually still exists! And now, someone has put it online for all of us to see. This INCREDIBLE picture was taken in 1918.  It is 18,000 men preparing for war in a training camp at Camp Dodge, in Iowa. EIGHTEEN THOUSAND MEN!!!!!  What a priceless gift from our grandfathers!
